Open Space in New Jersey
I find the concept of open space in New Jersey fascinating. There is a push and pull dynamic between nature and humanity in these public spaces. A state known for its industrial areas along the New Jersey Turnpike but ironically known as the “Garden State.” My photographs represent three open spaces in central New Jersey. Documented over several years revealing the beauty and ironies that exist within. Land reclaimed and protected from development. However, locals leave remnants of humanity within these areas from garbage to written word on the American Beech trees.
